Get started right now by entering searches, select Go, and view your results in the main display to your right. Your portfolio is created automatically when you start to add selected images to your portfolio. When ready, preview your portfolio, proceed to checkout, complete the credit card transaction, and then download. It's that simple. Refer to the steps below for details on how to use this service.

Step 1: SEARCH.  Conduct searches on images using categories, Boolean (And/Or) search terms each separated by a space, image number, or a combination of each. Click on any image to view as enlarged. Enlarged images include similar keyword links listed below them to help narrow your search criteria. Select the View All Keywords button to view a complete list of all available search keywords. To use the View All Keywords button you must enable popups (unblock) for photodc.com.

Step 2: PORTFOLIO.  Your portfolio is a staging area where you can preview at a glance all selected images, titles and image numbers. You may add or delete images at any time from your portfolio. Select the Add to Portfolio link to include any image that interests you and it will be available for later viewing in your portfolio.

Step 3: PURCHASE.  To purchase as royalty-free images: 1) select the Proceed to Checkout link where pricing totals will be shown, 2) review the License Agreement, 3) submit your order, 4) and complete the credit card transaction form. Transactions can be placed via MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Dinners, JCB, and debit cards with the Visa and MasterCard logo, or online checks, and will be processed by 2CheckOut Transaction Services (2CO.com). Invoices can also be submitted upon request.

Step 4: DOWNLOAD.  Following your transaction you will be sent to the download page where you will be able to immediately download your images. To download click on each title, you will then be prompted to select a filename and location. Store your images in a secure location on your computer. The download page will display your images for 15 days from the date of license. The download page can be accessed anytime from the home page login. It is recommended that you download all your images at the time of transaction.

About Model Releases. Model release details for each image can be viewed within the Enlarged View windows. Clicking on any thumbnail image will open the Enlarged View window along with details concerning model releases. For most images model releases do not apply. For those few images with recognizable people in them there are generally no model releases on file unless otherwise stated. Most images of public events or tourist attractions in which people are present unfortunately are not conducive for obtaining model releases. If you have a question concerning the status of a particular image with respect to model releases please feel to to with your questions.

If You Don't See What You Want.   There is more to Washington than fits on the internet. If you're project needs a particular image and you can't find it on this site, and we will research our stock to help you locate what you need.

All images are provided in a high resolution RGB JPG file format. "Print" size is optimized for higher resolution print reproduction and presentations. "Print" is available in two sizes: 5" x 7" at 300 dpi, and 8" x 12" at 300 dpi. "Web" size is 7" x 10" at 72 dpi and is optimized for monitor resolutions - good for multimedia and website use. Web/monitor resolution images (72 dpi) are best viewed on a monitor and will not display as well in print reproduction. All images are delivered in zip format and must be unzipped using either the Winzip (Windows) or Alladin Expander (Mac) shareware utility.

Below are some sizing and pricing guidelines. Image Size refers to uncompressed images. All Images have been cropped and may appear proportionally smaller, or larger, than those show in the specifications below. All images are print-ready, and have been prescreened for dust, scratches and overall image quality. All images have been lightly sharpened to offset any softening that may occur in the scanning process. Your satisfaction is important, and we will attempt to accommodate all requests concerning any downloaded image that does not meet with your requirements or expectations.
